About us
PETS AS THERAPY (PAT) is a national charity that enhances the health and wellbeing of thousands of people in communities across the UK. We strive to ensure that everyone, no matter their circumstances, has access to the companionship of an animal.
Our volunteers and their temperament-assessed pets visit establishments such as care homes, hospitals, hospices, schools and prisons, and bring smiles to many faces. People of all ages get the chance to chat to someone — and stroke a friendly dog or cat.

A picnic with a difference, raising money for Pets As Therapy.
This year Pets As Therapy is celebrating 40 years of therapeutic visits, so it’s a great opportunity for people and pets to come together and celebrate too. Share food and drink, perhaps play games, take photos – have fun while fundraising!
Every penny raised will help ensure PAT Teams continue to make a difference in local communities. Our visits bring joy and companionship to those who need it most. A cheery chat and the opportunity to stroke a four-legged friend often brighten up someone’s day.
