Playing With Confidence!

Raising for Cricket Without Boundaries

“Playing with Confidence” aims to remove key barriers to girls' participation in sport, school and community life, by building self-confidence, strengthening knowledge of menstruation and women’s health rights, and providing access to appropriate, reusable menstrual products and girl-friendly sports bras.

The Playing With Confidence pilot will include 60 girls and 8 coaches from Jinja and Mukono in Uganda, who will be participating in 2 days of festival cricket, learning about menstruation and women’s health, and planning how cricket can be used as a platform for education, advocacy and change for dignified menstruation.

A collaboration between 8 organisations, Playing With Confidence really is all about teamwork - and we’d love you to join our team!

Each girl who participates will be offered reusable period pants and a custom sports bra to try out and explore how it impacts their school and cricket experiences.

£30 = a set for one girl

£300 = sets for a team of 10 girls

After the festival, teams will receive donated hardball equipment organised through Bat for a Chance: £100 will get a full coaching kitbag for the team from the UK to Uganda.

Your donation will go directly towards:

  • Manufacturing and shipping bras and pants at cost
  • Local transport, food, and educational materials for the festival
  • Equipment support via our partners at Bat for a Chance

By helping a girl feel more comfortable and confident in her body, you're supporting her right to play, learn, and lead.

Thank you for your support!

About us

Cricket Without Boundaries

Charity number: 1154576

CWB works in partnership with local delivery partners: cricket associations, foundations and sport for development organisations, so our work fits alongside and supports existing sports structures, growing the game and ensuring sustainability.

It is central to our work that local coaches are empowered to lead coaching sessions and identify local health or social issues that can be discussed throughout so that all sessions provide high quality coaching and a safe place for participants to discuss issues that impact their lives. A key part of CWB's work is running ICC Certified coach education sessions for existing and new coaches.

We bolster our partners’ delivery capacity by providing grant funding to employ CWB Ambassadors, who work to achieve CWB’s goals year-round. CWB volunteers support all aspects of CWB’s delivery and provide vital capacity at mass participation events to ensure that Cricket Without Boundaries’ activities are truly inclusive and “without boundaries”.
