Rosie and Ivo go for the hat-trick

The Rosie Jones Foundation turns 1 on Saturday 18th April so when Ivo and Rosie found out that 'the fastest and flattest marathon in the UK' was taking place that same weekend, they couldn't resist going for the hat-trick.

So, with 3 being the magic number, the hope is a new PB and a fundraising target of £3,333 that we know you can help smash!
 
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Cerebral Palsy (CP) are both neurological conditions affecting movement and mobility. The number of people in the UK with MS is estimated at 150,000 and those with CP is estimated to be 160,000. Comparable numbers but very different social attitudes and levels of understandings of the condition which is often most influenced by multiple sclerosis being largely considered an acquired disability that develops later in life, in comparison to cerebral palsy being a lifelong condition.

Ivo's mother has MS and Ivo has been an ambassador for MS Society UK for many years now. Rosie has ataxic cerebral palsy and founded The Rosie Jones Foundation in 2025 with a mission to create a world where no person living with cerebral palsy feels alone or unheard.

Both Ivo and Rosie are passionate advocates for mental health through their advocacy work and participating in marathons together is a powerful way for them to demonstrate that participation is possible with the right support and mobility aids.

More than that though, through their collaboration they demonstrate the importance of visibility and representation and crucially,  the impact that can have on thos who see them participate. It makes people feel seen and heard and in turn, benefits their mental health.

MS Society UK and The Rosie Jones Foundation then ensure that the funds raised go directly to those who need them most and continue to raise awareness and provide access to support to ensure no person living with MS or CP feels alone or unheard and that they have access to support whenever they need it.
