About us

To support the Marian Franciscans in all their materials needs, including their daily sustenance, accommodation, travel, formation, development and activities. The Marian Franciscans are a rapidly growing religious family of 15 friars based in Portsmouth and Gosport in Hampshire, UK, who lead a life of prayer and penance and provide spiritual and corporal works of mercy to the local community and more broadly through their online media apostolate, in accordance with the spirituality and teachings of St Francis of Assisi and St Maximilian Kolbe. For more details, please see: themarianfranciscans.org/ and radioimmaculata.org/.
All the Marian Franciscan friars make a vow of voluntary poverty which means that they have no resources of their own and cannot own anything. As such they are completely dependent on the generosity and goodwill of donors and benefactors, which is why this charity has been set up. The Marian Franciscans are very international, with representation from England, Italy, Germany, Africa and North America.

St Mary's Summer Camp

Every year, the Marian Franciscans organize a Catholic youth summer camp for teenagers aged 9 to 17.
Next year, there will be two sessions:

  • Girls: 4th to 9th August 2025
  • Boys: 11th to 16th August 2025

The camp will take place in the Lake District.

Camp Details and Cost

The total cost of the camp is £350 per person, which covers:

  • £200 for accommodation and meals
  • £150 for transportation, fuel, sports and games equipment, and the booking of an outdoor activity centre for fun-filled excursions.

We kindly request participants to pay the full fee or contribute as much as possible. The suggested minimum donation is £50, allowing us to make the camp accessible to families with financial constraints.

Past Success and Objectives

Over the last three years, an average of 50 children have participated annually, and it has been a truly enriching experience for all. The camp’s primary aim is the spiritual formation of the participants, offering them a chance to discern their vocation in life and form lasting friendships.
Key activities include:

  • Daily Mass, rosary, and spiritual talks
  • Catechesis on virtues
  • Outdoor walks and excursions
  • Engaging sports and other fun activities

Support Needed

Organizing such a camp requires significant financial commitment, and many families may struggle to cover the costs. We invite you to partner with us in making this transformative experience available to as many children as possible. Your generous donation can make a real difference.
In gratitude for your sponsorship, two Rosaries will be prayed daily during the camp for your intentions, and Holy Mass will be offered on your behalf.
Thank you for helping us nurture the next generation in their faith and vocation.
