Newton Poppleford School PTFA

Fundraising Strategy: DT & Science Room Conversion of Library

Project Summary

We plan to transform our under-used library into a modern, flexible Design Technology & Science Room. This new space will feature:

  • Modular tables and chairs that can be reconfigured for different activities
  • A large touchscreen monitor for teaching and demonstrations
  • Practical storage, including shelving and boxes
  • Standing desks for flexible learning
  • A 3D printer and essential tools for hands-on projects

This hands-on environment will allow pupils to learn by designing, building, and experimenting, bringing STEM subjects to life.

About the PTFA

The PTFA (PTFA) at Newton Poppleford Primary School exists to support the school community and enhance every child’s educational experience. Through a variety of fundraising activities, the PTFA helps to fund school trips, classroom equipment, and other valuable learning opportunities.

All parents, carers, staff, and governors are automatically members of the PTFA, and friends of the school are also welcome to join.

The PTFA is a registered charity under the name NEWTON POPPLEFORD SCHOOL ASSOCIATION (charity number 1015155). It operates in accordance with the Parentkind model constitution, ensuring good governance, transparency, and accountability.

The PTFA is managed by a committee elected annually by members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Regular meetings are held throughout the year, and all members are encouraged to attend, share ideas, and get involved.

Suggestions for future events and projects are always appreciated, and any major spending decisions are made by vote at PTFA meetings attended by parents and teachers.
