Raising for Sheffield Futures
Right now, more young people than ever are reaching out for mental health support, but services are struggling to meet the demand. Counselling waiting lists are growing longer while demand continues to rise.
Under Door 43, Sheffield Futures is dedicated to improving the wellbeing of young people through mental health and wellbeing services. Last year, we supported 3,770 young people.
"[Counselling has] helped me enjoy life. I went from being bored and lonely to happy. Counselling also helped me to regain a relationship with my parents."
By taking action today, you help us respond where the need is now.
While we receive funding for specific projects, real‑world need doesn’t stand still. Demand can quickly exceed what grants cover, leaving young people waiting when they need help urgently.
"We really are in awe of what you all do as a charity given the huge gap in our NHS for children's mental health services. Please pass on our thanks to your team."
Children and young people often describe open access community mental health support as more approachable and accessible to their needs, and this provision is 100 times cheaper than help in inpatient settings. (Future Minds, 2026.)
Your donation to this campaign will directly support Door 43's Health and Wellbeing services, helping us:
- Reduce waiting-list times
- Fund life-changing counselling and early intervention
- Support short-term projects designed to meet rising demand

Sheffield Futures is a young people's charity, providing life-changing support for those who need it the most.
We deliver a wide range of services to young people in Sheffield from our city centre base, over the phone and video call, and in third party settings such as schools and colleges.
Our key service areas are: Mental Health and Wellbeing (under Door 43), Careers, Employability, and Youth Work.
We are passionate about making sure that young peoples' voice is at the heart of everything we do and have a particular focus on work with disadvantaged and hard to reach young people and communities.
We work closely with our partners across the statutory, voluntary, community, and private sectors to work together to support young people towards a better future, so they can fulfil their potential in education, employment and life.
