THE BIG WALK 2025

Freshford children and families will be walking 5km on Sunday 11th May 2025 in order to raise much needed funds for our school PTA. 50% of proceeds will go towards refurbishment of the school kitchen into a community hub, and 50% towards core PTA costs.

Our target for the Big Walk is to raise £5,000.

If we hit our target:

- £2,500 will be added to the money already raised for the communiy hub (currently an incredible £16,300 with a an additional £5,000 to be raised). The hub will transform the school kitchen and side room (currently not fit for purpose) into a shared space for children's cookery and health classes, workshops, community connection between children and adults, and a staff communal space.

- £2,500 will go to the PTA. At a time when the national picture for schools’ funding continues to be hugely challenging, PTA fundraising helps to cover books, equipment and extracuricular activities. The PTA currently needs to raise a minimum of £25,000 a year to support our wonderful school and teachers.

We know this is an ambitious target - but with over a hundred children walking (and often running) 5km through fields and over stiles, up hills and across rivers - we hope we can reach it with your help!
