About us
WHAT IS Gift of a Wedding?
We are a distinctive non-profit charity based in Cheshire. We gift wedding services to people living in the UK with a terminal or life-shortening illness. This service is open to people who wish to marry or couples who wish renew their wedding vows.
HOW DO WE DO WHAT WE DO?
Professionals from the wedding and hospitality industry together with gifted members of the public volunteer to help Gift of a Wedding plan beautiful wedding days for people who are terminally ill and wish to get married at short notice.
WHO CAN APPLY FOR A WEDDING?
- UK residents
- 18 +
- With a terminal or life-shortening illness
- Wishing to marry in the UK
- Who are unable to finance or devote the time to organising their wedding day

The Wedding March
Event dates: Saturday 11th September 2021 – Thursday 11th August 2022
Have you ever dreamt of wearing your wedding dress again? Well here is your chance to do just that and do it for a good cause!
We would love you to raise money by walking 5, 10 or 15 miles in wedding attire, to help us continue gifting urgent weddings to people with a terminal illness or life-limiting illness. This wedding fundraiser is not just for brides and grooms, but groomsmen, bridesmaids and mothers of the brides can get in on the act too!
Planning the perfect wedding for a terminally ill person at short notice is an expensive and challenging task to do. After nearly 10 years of offering our special service, we would love to have our own wedding boutique, where our couples can come to choose their wedding day attire and we can sell the surplus stock of wedding dresses donated to us each year to raise money for important items like food and rings that are often not donated.
So come and join us for the big walk in Manchester on Saturday 11th September 2021 or organise your own wedding March where you live with work colleagues, family or friends, we promise you it will be fun.

WEDDING MARCH UPDATE
We have 12 people signed up for The Wedding March and we've had our first donation. Hoping to have at least 10 more people join our walk before the end of the week.
Remember we need to raise a whopping £10,000 from this charity walk to fulfil our dream of opening our own wedding boutique for our terminally ill brides to be able have their wedding dress experience and say "YES" to their perfect dress for their special wedding days.
