Top Work CWB
CWB works in partnership with local delivery partners: cricket associations, foundations and sport for development organisations, so our work fits alongside and supports existing sports structures, growing the game and ensuring sustainability.
It is central to our work that local coaches are empowered to lead coaching sessions and identify local health or social issues that can be discussed throughout so that all sessions provide high quality coaching and a safe place for participants to discuss issues that impact their lives. A key part of CWB's work is running ICC Certified coach education sessions for existing and new coaches.
We bolster our partners’ delivery capacity by providing grant funding to employ CWB Ambassadors, who work to achieve CWB’s goals year-round. CWB volunteers support all aspects of CWB’s delivery and provide vital capacity at mass participation events to ensure that Cricket Without Boundaries’ activities are truly inclusive and “without boundaries”.
Two years ago, the Marylebone Biratnagar Jwala Cricket Ground was nothing more than open fields. Thanks to investment from the MCC Foundation as part of the Cricket 4 Equality project, it has been transformed into a thriving two-ground venue that now hosts school matches, Hub tournaments, and community cricket as part of our collaboration with the Nepal Cricket Foundation. Most recently, it welcomed teams for the Koshi Cup, a softball tournament introducing new schools to the game. Every evening, it serves as the heart of community coaching, giving local boys and girls the opportunity to train, play, and grow through cricket.
But there is one essential facility missing: toilets.
We are raising funds to build new toilet blocks at the ground, ensuring that every player, coach, and spectator has access to clean, safe, and hygienic facilities. These toilets will be constructed using traditional, environmentally friendly materials while incorporating running water and full handwashing stations - a necessity for girls’ participation, community events, and player welfare.
We have already seen the impact of improved sanitation through the Cricket Without Boundaries-supported renovation at PaBi School Ground in Rajbiraj. There, new facilities have transformed access to clean and safe toilets, particularly for girls in the community. Now, we want to bring that same change to the Marylebone Biratnagar Jwala Cricket Ground.
