Trinity Lunch Club - Community Fundraiser

This page has been set up, in response to the interest and support kindly being offered by the local community, as an easy way for local people to make cashless donations to this local cause.

Trinity Lunch Club meets every Thursday. It’s a lunch club for everyone over 60, whatever their background or faith.

Members are served a three course hot meal, prepared on the premises, as well as morning coffee, tea and homemade cakes.
Each week they also enjoy seated exercise, a quiz, and a raffle alongside a variety of afternoon activities or entertainment. Transport, with passenger assistance, is provided for those members who may otherwise struggle to attend. Through all this Trinity Lunch Club promotes wellbeing and helps to alleviate loneliness and isolation.

Trinity Lunch Club will have been running for 40 years in 2026, in different guises, and operates from the hall in Holy Trinity Church, Hotwells, where we provide a warm, friendly and welcoming environment. Over 30 members attend every week and we have approximately 50 members on our books at any one time. Our members are predominantly in their 80s or 90s and 40% have some cognitive impairment. Many are local people and some went to school together in Hotwells over 80 years ago.

Members contribute a weekly fee of £8 to attend, which covers about 25% of the total costs to run this service. The remaining 75% has to be raised each year through grant applications, donations and fundraising. In 2026 the total that needs to be raised through these other channels will be approximately £35,000.

All money raised through this fundraiser will be restricted solely for the running of Trinity Lunch Club and managed separately to the general church funds.
