Raising for Yellow Door
March 8th 2026 marks the 115th Year celebrating International Women’s Day and this year’s focus is to Give to Gain, emphasising the power of reciprocity and support.
Last year Yellow Door supported 4772 people impacted by domestic and/or sexual abuse, across our services which include therapy, advocacy, education and prevention. Our Peer Heroes Project ran by our STAR team was a peer led project of young men to learn about the impact of VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) and how to prevent and reduce it in schools. Some outcomes from a Peer Heroes review found:
• The boys who were involved in the project gained more appreciation of what violence against women and girls is and the impact it has on women and girls.
• The boys reported a positive experience from the intervention and felt they would be able to intervene if they witnessed sexual harassment or violence against women and girls outside of their peer group.
• The girls’ focus group enabled their voice and their experiences of sexual harassment in the school to be heard, influencing the project.
At Yellow Door we recognise that abuse can happen to anyone. Donate this International Women’s Day to help us support all ages and genders working towards a world free from abuse.
Your gift could help us to:
