Fundraising for Foodbanks

Foodbanks across the UK provide invaluable support to those in need throughout the year. However, with Christmas just a few weeks away, now is an incredibly important time to raise cash and food donations to support the vital work that they do.

With foodbanks expected to need hundreds of thousands of food parcels during December and January, every donation can make a real difference. Foodbanks should not be the solution to hunger in the UK but while they are needed Give as you Live want to make it as easy as possible for charities and their supporters to come together and make a difference.

At Give as you Live HQ we are proud to say that the foodbanks we already work with have raised over £11,000 in donations during 2019 and the introduction of our bespoke Donate Button has made it even easier for supporters to make one-off or repeat donations to the causes they care about.

Foodbanks who work with us and have added a Give as you Live Donate button to their site have seen some amazing donations this year:

• Andover Foodbank raised over £1,700 to support the work they do within their community in the Test Valley

• Haroldhill Foodbank raised over £1,200 in direct donations from their supporters. With over 2,000 three-day emergency food packages given to those in crisis last year these funds have helped to ensure they can continue to support their community throughout the year

• Harrow Foodbank. With £3,500 raised in donations, Harrow can continue their work within the community where over 56 tonnes of food has been given out

• Leeds North and West Foodbank. An incredible £4,930 has been raised in 2019 with almost £1,000 of that figure raised in December alone. With over 1,500 three-day emergency food supplies expected to be given out in December, these funds have helped make sure that those most in need get support during this vital time.
