PFP works with local people in developing countries to help them make their films in their language for educational and humanitarian purposes.
Dear PFP Friends
Having turned 80 this February, I thought I should do something appropriate to support the PFP team who have carried on, throughout the Covid crisis, training young African filmmakers to make films that can make a difference in the lives of the people of their countries. I am proposing, over 5 or 6 days in June, to cycle to 80 Somerset churches (and photograph each one). For over 15 as PFP’s chief fundraiser, I have resisted (with one exception) asking for sponsorship, but then I thought why not just one more time? I promise I will not do another one before my ninetieth birthday!
Purple Field Productions is an exceptional, and in many ways, unique charity. It works because its small team is totally dedicated, carries out the work for free and makes superb life-changing films. I feel they deserve support. Please sponsor me. Any money raised will go directly to support current projects in Malawi, Kenya, Tanzania, and Sierra Leone.
Thank you
Rob Rainbow, Trustee

I have now bagged 62 churches, with another 18 to go. I got very wet in the beautiful lanes around Hinton St George and the Chinnocks on Wednesday but the Lycra dried by the time I reached Stoke Sub Hamdon! Yesterday, I spent riding around the Polden Hills, ending up in Glastonbury and Street. Not the best day to have chosen because the roads were flooded with camper vans and cars leaving the Glasto festival. So far I have ridden over 250, mostly enjoyable, kilometres. The most challenging part of the ride has been finding the churches, which are either hidden by trees or way off the beaten track. One yesterday was down a 100-yard path through a field - pretty though.
Two more rides: one south towards Chard and the other north around Taunton. Could I thank my wonderful supporters for their extraordinarily generous donations.
