Help Dave Reclaim His Freedom

Dave proudly served his country for 16 years in the British Armed Forces, spending more than a decade with the Regiment. During his military career, he sustained a serious spinal compression injury in a parachuting accident. Despite undergoing multiple operations and extensive treatment, the injury ultimately led to his discharge and continues to cause significant pain and mobility challenges. Today, Dave relies on a wheelchair for his day-to-day movement. Yet Dave refuses to be defined by his injuries. his determination remains unwavering:
"My treatment is still ongoing, and in a few weeks, I'll be going in for my fifth spinal operation. Another hurdle, another challenge, but not the end, because I've learned that progress isn't about big leaps. It's about small steps. And every step forward matters."
Those words perfectly capture the spirit of the man we know; resilient, courageous, and always looking forward. Now, we have an opportunity to help Dave take some important new steps.
Together with friends of Dave and the Hoplite, we are raising funds to purchase an Exoquad, an innovative all-terrain mobility vehicle specifically designed for people with reduced mobility. Unlike a conventional wheelchair, the Exoquad can tackle rugged trails, woodland paths, uneven ground, and outdoor environments that would otherwise remain inaccessible.
For Dave, this is about far more than mobility. It's about joining friends on hikes once again. It's about sharing outdoor adventures with his family. It's about reconnecting with nature, rebuilding independence, and enjoying experiences that many of us take for granted. After years of service, sacrifice, and perseverance, we'd like to give Dave the opportunity to explore beyond the limits imposed by his injury.
