The Change Foundation is an award-winning charity that uses sport to change the lives of marginalised young people. We deliver targeted long-term interventions for the most vulnerable young people through Coach Mentors with lived experience, providing regular sport, personalised mentoring and work-related opportunities.
Deliver - we deliver targeted sport for social change programmes for the most vulnerable young people through Coach Mentors with lived experience.
Innovate - we design programmes with young people, using creative methodologies and testing ideas by delivering 6-12 month pilot programmes.
Inspire - we work with other charities, employers and corporate organisations and create bespoke solutions to extend the power and reach of our programmes for maximum social impact.
Guided by young people, our listening process has directed us to deliver sports programmes that focus on these social issues affecting young people today:
We exist to help young people find solutions to deal with these social issues through the power of sport.
Event dates: Wednesday 1st June 2022 – Thursday 30th June 2022
For the month of June, The Change Foundation is launching its Big Steps Challenge 2.0 to raise funds for its work with Ukrainian refugee children in Poland and the UK.
Those taking part in the challenge will walk a minimum of 12,000 steps a day during the month of June contributing to the fitness and mental health of everyone involved whilst raising money for a great charity.
Distances will be measured, tracked and accessible to the walkers via the StepTribe app – and will include details of how far participants have walked, measured alongside the distance between the foundation’s first work in Brixton to its current projects in refugee hubs along the Ukrainian border.
Having set up safe zones at the Humanitarian Centre in the Polish border town of Przemysl and continuing to do so across other parts of the Polish border, we are now also planning a series of sports summer camps for recently arrived Ukrainian refugee children into the UK. The plan is to link them together with other Ukrainian children across UK towns and villages and helping them to integrate into their new homes through playing sport with British children in their area.
Prizes are up for grabs for the person who completes the most steps in the month as well as the person who raises the most amount of funds!
