BMO London to TradeTech Amsterdam Cycle: Riding for Prior Weston Primary School
Raising for Farms for City Children
Event dates: –
The BMO x TRAFiX Ride to TradeTech 2026 is back this year, featuring an exciting new route from London to Amsterdam. We’re proud to support this ride alongside TRAFiX, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd (HKEX), Cboe, and Vyntra, helping children in our community through our long-standing partnership with educational charity Farms for City Children.
For over four years, BMO has proudly partnered with Prior Weston Primary School, supporting their annual residential visit to Farms for City Children. This year, we’re thrilled to continue our support, helping make their upcoming trip to the charity’s Devon farm possible.
Farms for City Children was founded by Clare and Michael Morpurgo with a simple but powerful vision: to give children the chance to discover the joy of spending time in nature and to understand they belong to a wider world. Since 1976, they’ve welcomed more than 105,000 children and young people to their farms in Devon, Gloucestershire, and Pembrokeshire, helping them grow happier, healthier, and more connected to nature.
What the children of Prior Weston Primary say:
"I loved this trip because it was my very very first time ever going away from London." - Radiya, Pupil, Prior Weston, 2025
"At first I felt scared, but then I decided to go for it! I felt really happy and alive." - Amirah, Pupil, Prior Weston, 2025
"I loved this trip because I have never experienced something like it before." - George, Pupil, Prior Weston, 2025
Today, almost a third of UK children live in poverty, with limited access to safe outdoor spaces and few hands-on learning opportunities. Many have never experienced the countryside or the emotional, social, and educational benefits it brings. Farms for City Children prioritises those who need it most: nearly half of the children come from the most deprived areas, many are from minority ethnic backgrounds, and some face special educational needs or social, emotional, or health challenges.
Over five days on their farms, pupils take on real responsibilities, care for livestock, grow and cook their own food, explore biodiversity, and enjoy outdoor learning. These experiences boost confidence, wellbeing, social skills, and learning—while connecting young people with nature and the field-to-fork journey. A week on a farm is transformative, and its benefits last a lifetime.
Donations to this campaign go directly towards Prior Weston Primary School’s visit in September, giving pupils a rare opportunity to experience the countryside, develop new skills, and create lasting memories. Every contribution helps shape curious, courageous, and compassionate futures for the children in our community.

About us
Farms for City Children
Charity number: 325120
Our mission is to improve the health, wellbeing and environmental citizenship of all children and young people, especially those experiencing inequality, by connecting them with food, farming and nature.
We do this by providing young people with the opportunity to live and thrive for a week on our three farms in Devon, Gloucestershire and Pembrokeshire, allowing them to learn in new ways and achieve beyond the classroom. Young people are immersed in practical, hands-on farm tasks, building their knowledge, skills, confidence and resilience through new experiences. These benefits last long after they return home and can be felt throughout their lives.
Through practical experience of food production and nature-friendly farming, young people are able to broaden their horizons and recognise themselves as environmental citizens. With children and young people increasingly locked into a digital world and disconnected from nature, what we offer has never been more important.
Since 1976, over 105,000 young people have flourished thanks to a week on our farms. Together, we can ensure that hundreds of thousands more experience the wealth of benefits of being farmers for a week.
