About us
Careline is a registered charity based in Ashbourne (No. 1068801). We offer a free telephone befriending service for people living in the Derbyshire Dales and East Staffordshire who are in need of extra support. Calls are available every day of the year including weekends and holidays.
The service is managed by Jane and Carolyn with the support of our fantastic Trustees and volunteers. Our aim is to make the lives of those we call a little better by offering friendship and peace of mind to their family and friends.
Our team of 60 volunteers provides friendship, greater social interaction and helps give our members the confidence to remain living independently. We monitor people’s well-being and pass on useful information about the services available to them in their local community.
Our service is free and available every day of the year including weekends and bank holidays.

Careline's Fundraising Walk
Event date: Sunday 11th September 2022
The walk will take place at Carsington Water on Sunday 11th September 2022 at 10am. We will be walking the 8-mile loop of the reservoir, there will also be a shorter 4-mile walk available.
As you know, over the past 2 years we haven’t been able to hold our usual fundraising events due to COVID-19, so your support is appreciated more than ever. Therefore, if you can’t join us, please consider sponsoring the Careline Team. It really doesn’t matter how much, as every penny counts and means a great deal.
