Help Us Bring New Computers to Our Classrooms

As part of Compton Primary Schools ongoing commitment to providing the very best education for our pupils, they are working to update and expand our school’s computer resources. Unfortunately, many of the current devices are now outdated and unable to support the latest educational software and online learning tools. Earlier this year, a mandatory system update caused a significant number of the student computers to fail. Despite taking them to several independent technicians, the school were told they could not be recovered. This has left them with just 10 working devices for the entire school — a real challenge when so much of today’s learning depends on technology.

To ensure every child has access to the tools they need to learn, explore, and thrive, Compton Primary School is launching this dedicated fundraising campaign to purchase new computers for our classrooms. While FoCPS is pleased to support where we can - including hosting this page - our existing commitments to fundraising for enrichment weeks and other school resources remain in place. You may also notice an increase in school-led events over the coming months, all aimed at helping us reach our technology goal.  

With improved technology, the students will be able to:

• Develop essential digital literacy skills
• Access interactive and engaging learning programs
• Conduct research and complete projects more effectively
• Prepare for a world that increasingly relies on technology

Our goal is to provide 30 laptops for KS2 and 30 tablets for KS1. Each new device costs around £400, with an additional £55 per device needed for software installation and safeguarding compliance - bringing the total fundraising goal to £18,000.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our school community so far, they have already made a fantastic start:

• £1,762.50 raised through our sponsored walk
• £3,000 provided from Federation funding
• £2,000 donated by FoCPS (beyond their initial commitments for this year)

This has allowed us to purchase 15 new laptops, getting KS2 online with a sharing ratio of one device for every two children. But they still have a long way to go.
