About us
The Project (previously South Birmingham Young Homeless Project) is a South Birmingham based charity that has worked with citizens for over 35 years to prevent homelessness and to support people to maximise income through welfare benefits. Funds raised through Give as You Live will be used to help people quickly who are in crisis and unable to afford day to day essentials.
Crisis funds
Our campaign is to raise funds that will enable us to provide immediate support to people in crisis in the moment that they need it. Accessing housing and benefits can take some time - any funds raised will allow us to help right there and then and in ways that maintain dignity. We would use funds raised to be able to provide Aldi and other shopping vouchers for essential day to day items such as food and toiletries. We would also use it to be able to remove barriers for people who need to access housing and welfare benefit support such as through providing replacement documents like birth certificates, bus fares and other items to help make life a little easier.
