About us
Each year the Lord Mayor of Liverpool raises money to be distributed to local charities or charities with a Liverpool connection.
We would really appreciate your help and ask that you consider making The Lord Mayor's Charity Appeal (Liverpool) your Charity of the Year. It doesn't matter whether it's for a calendar year or a financial year, as your money will help local charities now and in the future.

Dragon Boat Race
Event dates: Wednesday 17th April – Sunday 12th May
Lord Mayor Dragon Boat Race registrations are now open for the Lord Mayor’s Dragon Boat Race on Sunday 12th May 2024 at Liverpool Watersports Centre. Take on a 2,000-year-old Chinese tradition and have a go at dragon-boating while supporting the Lord Mayor’s Charity of the Year, Local Solutions.

Whether you’re looking for a team building exercise, a networking opportunity, an opportunity to push your competitive limits or a fun day out with friends, family or colleagues, take part in the Lord Mayor’s Dragon Boat Race while raising money for Local Solutions AIMS to help support young people across Liverpool City Region.
Teams go head-to-head in long boats decorated with magnificent dragon figureheads. It’s a test of teamwork and concentration as well as a physical challenge. There’s a great atmosphere too, as family and friends line the shores and cheer on the teams.
KEY DETAILS
9am – All teams on site at Liverpool Watersports Centre for a health and safety briefing
Life belts are supplied by the organisers
10am – First race
Each team will take part in 2 races
15 team members maximum with 15 people paddling at any one time
A maximum number of 24 boats are available so book early to avoid disappointment
