Edhi Emergency Appeal: Pakistan Flood Relief 2025

Event dates: Wednesday 20th August – Friday 31st October

Nearly 1,000 people have lost their lives, including more than 170 children, as catastrophic monsoon floods tear through villages in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Buner district has emerged as the epicentre of this devastation, with entire communities wiped out. Roads, bridges, and villages have been swept away, cutting off access to rescue teams and aid. According to Pakistan’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), further rainfall is forecast in the coming days, potentially exacerbating an already dire situation and hindering relief operations.
This has been dubbed the worst disaster since the catastrophic 2022 floods, which claimed thousands of lives. And once again, it is the poorest and most vulnerable who are paying the heaviest price.

• Evacuate stranded families using road, air, and marine ambulances.
• Deliver urgent medical aid to the injured and vulnerable through mobile clinics and relief camps.
• Provide food, clean water, and temporary shelters to families who have lost everything.

But the scale of this disaster is overwhelming. Thousands remain displaced and are wholly dependent on aid to survive. With more rain expected, the urgency of this appeal cannot be overstated.
