About us
Pendle RDA was set up in February 1977 and is one of the oldest RDA groups in the country. Over the years the Group has moved to various sites in the Pendle area and we are now based at Barnoldswick and Thornton-In-Craven (Thornton Hall Couty Park), providing great riding opportunities for people with a wide range of disabilities.
Riding provides endless benefits for our riders, whether it be improving in confidence, both socially and with horses, working on fine motor skills and balance or even developing their technical riding skills further. Our riders, ponies and volunteers often make friendships that last a lifetime and some of our riders go on to compete at regional and national level, with their newfound skills.
Our Group has a policy of not charging for lessons and so we must fundraise for any additional specialist equipment that is needed & operational costs.

Funds for a Heart Defibrillator
We have kindly been allocated £300 funding towards a new defibrillator. We need to find a further £900 to be able to buy one.
CAN YOU HELP?
Defibrillators are devices that apply an electric charge or current to the heart to restore a normal heartbeat. If the heart rhythm stops due to cardiac arrest, also known as sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), a defibrillator may help it start beating again. A sudden cardiac arrest is fatal unless treated right away with CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and a defibrillator.
