Give more than a gift this Christmas 2023

This Christmas season, please consider donating to support a family with a child with Down syndrome in hospital.  With your help, we can bring support and comfort to families spending prolonged periods in hospital letting them know they are not alone and that we are thinking of them.  

Some of our families face extended hospital stays, which can be due to children with Down syndrome having increased vulnerability to infections, especially over the winter months. This Christmas, our “Give more than a gift” campaign is raising money to send families PADS Care parcels for a much-needed lift at a difficult time.

"PADS have been amazing support to us since we received our high chance that Hope would have Down Syndrome. And have continued to make a difference to our journey and how life could have looked without them. Hope has sadly been diagnosed with leukaemia, and as we entered the hospital for her treatment PADS sent us a beautiful care package. To help us with some comforts for another tough journey ahead. It felt so personal, and we knew that our community was there to support us. Literally a message away."

Our PADS Care Parcels are thoughtfully assembled with practical items and small treats, providing comfort and pampering for families during challenging times. 

£5 pays for the treats in a PADS Care Parcel 

£10 pays for the children's books in a PADS Care Parcel 

£40 pays for a complete PADS Care Parcel to be sent to a family  

Our campaign starts on Giving Tuesday and runs throughout December.  

Donating to Down Syndrome UK can give more than a gift this Christmas - we can give a family some love and practical support at a time that can be stressful, unfamiliar, and overwhelming while they care for their little ones away from the comfort of their own homes.
