About us

We are a self funded charity who rescue & re-home ex racing greyhounds. We have been doing this 40 years Fighting cruelty to greyhounds, promoting what wonderful pets they make & for those who are to traumatised to be able to go into a loving home, we will look after them & care for them with the love & respect they deserve until the end of their natural life.
We never put a healthy dog to sleep.
We believe these beautiful dogs were ?Born to be loved?, not just ?Born to run? x
Thank you

Duke's - (Racing Name Coney Cuckoo) Fight Of His Life

To all Friends of Greyhound Rescue, owners, friends old & new, trainers/owners, racing kennels & anyone who loves or is interested in greyhounds….We need to raise £2000.

Please- even £1 will help - any amount is worth it to Duke.

We need your help to raise funds for an ex racer (racing name - Coney Cuckoo) Pet name, Duke.

He retired from racing at 4 years old and came into our rescue. Duke was 7 on 11th May 2023. He has a real passion for life and his family. We have to help him or I question everything.

A little may seem not worth it to some of you but please - it's worth it to Duke.
And to Sheffield Racing Track/trainers/owners- Please help him - he made you all money. Give him a chance now. Dean, Carl, They may not be trainers now but I'm reaching out - Kelly - you know many - he came from your kennels one of Deans dogs. Please don't just leave it up to 'the other side' - Coney Cuckoo Deserves More. Thank you all.
His operation is 1.30pm today - 1/7/23.

Duke was adopted by Christine & David who also have a girl from us Yahoo Linda (pet name Shadow).

Duke soon after being adopted became a little lame on his front leg & was diagnosed with a tumour. It was not a cancer that spreads & so he was operated on & the tumour removed but as nerves & blood vessels were affected, it has meant his leg has slowly become redundant but painfully so & is affecting his quality of life & wellbeing.

After considering all options & talks with vets it has been decided that the best way forward for Duke would be to remove his front leg right from the top & give him back the chance of a happy ‘rest of his life’ x

He just can’t carry on the way he is.

We need to raise around £2000

Duke has done his time racing and had already gone through a few issues but remained a beautiful, kind, strong willed but soft natured greyhound. None of them deserve this… he doesn’t but he does have positive attitude & a great will to carry on regardless.

Nobody can foresee the future in any situation but this is the only way forward to make his life an adventure again.

Thank You from Karen & Dawn (Greyhound Rescue)
Christine, David & Shadow (Yahoo Linda)

And… Duke 💗 'ONLY LOVE WILL MATTER, IN THE END'
