Thousands of dogs are born on the streets of Bosnia every year, condemned to face cruel acts by locals, starvation, disease and brutal and inhumane deaths. The dogs are round up by dog catchers and often placed into kill shelters that provide no care, food or comfort, with many starving to death or dying of exposure.
Fetcher Dog aims to rescue as many of these dogs as possible. We have many local rescuers, picking up stray street dogs and removing as many as possible from kill shelters. All dogs are taken to safe and secure facilities where they no longer have to fear cruelty. They are fed and cared for and are taken to local veterinarians who help us nurse them back to health. We give them everything they need for a fresh start and the best possible chance of a happy, healthy life.
Fetcher Dog then finds forever homes for these dogs in the U.K. These dogs have been through so much that they desperately deserve wonderful families and we aim to pair all of our dogs with the best forever homes that we can find.
On the 6th June 2021, Fetcher Dog moved to our rescue centre in Hastingleigh and in the two years since we have been here, 343 dogs have come in and out of this rescue centre!
To mark the occasion and to raise much needed funds for our dogs, myself (Jordan) and Stephanie are challenging ourselves and our supporters to collectively walk/cycle 343km in the next two weeks.
We are hoping some of our lovely supporters would be willing to take some of these kms off of our hands by challenging themselves as well as helping us raise money. Whatever isn't covered (which will most likely be a lot) will be completed by us!
So, please pick a distance to cover and help us reach our target and celebrate our two year anniversary!
