About us
Dementia Forward is the leading dementia charity for York and North Yorkshire. We provide support, advice and information to anybody affected by dementia across the county, and have developed a comprehensive range of services; all with people living with dementia at their heart. Our aim is to knit dementia support into the community, so that people can continue to live well for longer.
Dementia in some way affects more than 50% of the UK public*. In the face of this startling statistic, we want to increase awareness and understanding, and provide free, confidential advice and support, so that no-one has to face dementia alone.

Hat Day for Dementia Forward
Event date:
We are launching Hat Day on the 23rd of May. This will become an annual event to raise awareness, reduce stigma and raise vital funds during Dementia Action Week.
'Don't Keep Dementia Under Your Hat' and get your friends, family members and colleagues involved by wearing a hat (the more creative the better!) and donating to Dementia Forward. Whether you're wearing a cowboy hat, a sombrero, a simple bobble hat, or crafting your own paper hat, everyone joining in together is what really counts.
Hat Day provides an opportunity to unite communities, encourage conversations about dementia, and raise money to ensure support and resources are available for everyone affected by dementia in North Yorkshire.
