About us
Wales Deaf Rugby Union is a charity that gives opportunities to all deaf and hard-of-hearing people of all ages, who wish to partake in rugby football without hindrance.
Although affiliated with the WRU and home to the National Deaf Team, the charity receives no funding from the WRU itself, and relies on donations from the public and sponsorship from businesses to deliver its purpose.

Help send WDRU to the World Cup 2026!
It costs £150,000 to get Wales Deaf Rugby Union to the 2026 World Cup in Tokyo!
The WDRU is run solely by volunteers and receives no funding from the WRU nor the UK or Welsh Government. Players and volunteer coaches need to pay for flights, accommodation, kit, pre-event training camps, and support teams such as physio, team doctors, and sign language interpreters. With the ever increasing cost of living, players and volunteers are struggling to self-fund these costs.
Wales Deaf Rugby are the reigning World champions. Both teams won their respective competitions at World Deaf Rugby Sevens World Cup in Cordoba, Argentina in 2022.
We need your help to get the WDRU teams to Tokyo and give them the best chance to defend their titles and represent their country on the centre stage of deaf rugby.
