Help Tendiatou Women's Garden expand
Raising for Empower the Gambia
Over 200 women in the village of Tendiatou in Central River Region, Gambia raise crops in their allotment which supports over 1000 people. The women have dug their own wells by hand and battle to keep out animals as their fence is in a poor condition. Empower the Gambia visited in January 2024 and would like to support the women with fencing costing £1500 and a bore hole with pump and troughs for £9800. If you could help us raise the funds through a fundraising event or a donation that would ensure these women can continue their hard work.

The fencing is a real problem for the ladies at Tendiatou - they make do with what materials they can find to try to keep out the animals. But for £1500 we can get strong wire fencing which will last many years. Can you help?
At Tendiatou Gardens the women have to dig their own wells by hand in order to raise produce to eat and sell. Empower the Gambia wants to raise money for the women to have a bore hole and solar pump installed.
