About us

Moving Memory (MM) is an innovative, collaborative & inclusive physical performance company. Performances, films & installations created by our core ensemble of 6 older women have been surprising and entertaining family audiences for over 10 years.

We also lead workshops with a broad range of groups including younger, disabled & neurodiverse people, people in day & residential care and people living with mental health issues. Our unique "Moving Well" practice draws out participants’ own stories & empowers people, especially those who may feel marginalized, to regain their self-confidence, connect with others & become active, valued members of their communities.
We also offer a training programme to facilitate groups to self-manage in the long-term.
Moving Memory started in 2011, became a company in 2013 and gained charitable status in 2018.
