About us
Every young person in Oldham deserves the best start in life. Mahdlo Youth Zone opens the door to opportunity, inspiring our members to reach their potential whatever that may be.
We are committed to delivering exceptional youth work. At Mahdlo the possibilities are endless, from dunking hoops to dropping beats, climbing walls to cooking meals, performing arts to nail art. For just 50p per visit, we provide a safe space for our members to use their boundless imagination; 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year – we’re here to give young people the opportunity to experience and achieve.
Give & Take - Your donation doubled, making twice the difference
As the cost of living crisis continues to grip the nation, families are feeling the full impact. Mahdlo has responded through the ‘Give and Take' initiative, which provides young people and their families to ‘Take' what they need, such as free membership, free entry, free hot food, clothes rehoming, access to a warm space, free sanitary products and toiletries, budgeting advice and much more.
74% of our members come from the most deprived areas of the Borough, which is in the top 10% of the most deprived areas in the country.
Since September 2023, we’ve had over 12,600 visits, provided more than 5,300 hot meals, experienced a 40% increase in attendance at Family Zone sessions, delivered over 20 activities every day of the week, the list is endless, but we cannot do it alone.
By 'Giving' what you can, you are enabling us to continue to reduce the pressure experienced by Oldham’s young people and their families and to be there for them while they need us the most. Whether this is taking a hot shower, enjoying a free meal, having a listening ear, or simply enjoying the many activities on offer.
Your donation, whatever you can give, will make a long-lasting and meaningful difference. Through the support of JW Lees and an anonymous donor all donations received by 31st March will be doubled, meaning your money will make twice the difference. Thank you
