About us

PRESERVE AND MAINTAIN THE HERITAGE OF SCARISBRICK HALL

The key aim of Scarisbrick Hall Trust is to secure a viable, sustainable and appropriate future for Scarisbrick Hall and its parkland, ensuring the ongoing care and preservation of the site and its heritage for future generations.

The Trust is responsible for the care, repair and maintenance of the Grade 1 listed Hall, its associated buildings and land, which has elements of great historical significance, and for the fundraising this requires.

MAKE IT ACCESSIBLE TO THE WHOLE COMMUNITY

The Trust aims to increase public access to the site and reveal the heritage of Scarisbrick Hall and the local area for people across the North West and beyond.

The Trust also provides financial support through scholarships and bursaries to enable children gifted in the Arts to attend Scarisbrick Hall School.

THROUGH THE ARTS AND CREATIVE ACTIVITY

The Trust believes the arts are an important and valuable way in which to do this and aims to develop the arts provision for the local community. The Trust supports strong community partnerships and provides a creative and cultural hub that unites local arts projects and organisations.

With a focus on the performing arts, the Trust supports a Saturday Performing Arts school that is open to young musicians, dancers and actors from across the North West. In addition to this the Trust is already involved with key partners such as BASBWE (British Association of Symphonic Wind Bands), local orchestras, community musicians and wider partners

Mike Headley's Educational Bursary & Scholarship Fund

Event dates: Tuesday 9th November 2021 – Wednesday 9th November 2022

Mike was an incredibly positive person who was passionate about education and young people. He delighted in their successes and was often seen applauding with great gusto at the many performances and events that the school has done. Mike had a relentless drive for the wellbeing and care of the pupils at our school. He strongly supported our wellbeing initiatives and believed that Scarisbrick Hall School will be a leading light globally.

Mike was someone who was known personally by all the staff at Scarisbrick Hall School. Regardless of their role or pay grade, he had a way of making everyone feel valued through the time and conversations that he had with them. Mike was hands-on in his approach to the school and site, and you would often see him with his ‘sleeves rolled up’ in the middle of a building project or site development. He embodied the values that our school is built upon, and his legacy will most certainly live on.

As a Director, he brought a depth of wisdom in business, health care, legal and financial management that was highly valued. Above and beyond this, Mike had a heart that overflowed with care and love as well as an infectious spirit of hope, light and energy. Perhaps most importantly he was a loving husband, dedicated father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

The Board of Directors and Mr Shaw (Headmaster) remain focused and driven to see Scarisbrick Hall School continue to go from strength to strength. We have been, and continue to be, inspired by Mike and will use this inspiration to drive the school onto new heights and to honour his life and legacy.

These funds will support gifted and talented children and families in challenging circumstances to attend Scarisbrick Hall School.
