MSF Ukraine appeal

Raising for Medecins Sans Frontieres (UK)

As hundreds of thousands of people are forced to escape the conflict in Ukraine, Médecins Sans Frontières is working to set up emergency response activities in the country and dispatching teams to Poland, Moldova, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia. Teams are also ready to respond in Russia and Belarus.

In the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, MSF teams have distributed medical kits to treat war-wounded people. We have also provided a telemedicine training for trauma care for 30 surgeons from eastern Ukraine.

About us

Medecins Sans Frontieres (UK)

Charity number: 1026588

MSF is an international humanitarian organisation providing medical care in more than 70 countries. Since 1971, we have been treating people caught in complex crises and chronic healthcare emergencies around the world.

Around the world, 365 days a year, we are there even when the cameras are not.

From our paediatric nurses to our off-road drivers, we are experts at working in fast-moving and highly-insecure environments. So, whether it's launching a rapid response or delivering community care, we go wherever we are needed most.

Our vital work often hits the headlines when there's an emergency such as an earthquake, war or disease outbreak. However, our teams are also running long-term medical programmes for vulnerable groups cut off from care, or speaking out about unseen suffering and the policies that cause it.

How can your support help?

  • £21 can help pay for masks to resuscitate three newborn babies.

  • £43 could pay for a blood pressure monitor to help detect underlying health issues.

  • £95 could provide antiretroviral drugs for a year for one person living with HIV/AIDS.

  • £153 could buy a basic surgical kit, enabling an MSF surgeon to carry out surgery.

  • £306 can pay for an emergency kit to dress 100 wounds.

  • £2,100 covers the cost of an MSF doctor working in a hospital for five weeks.

Thank you so much for choosing to raise funds for MSF.

Support such as this is what allows us to respond swiftly during an emergency, treating those most in need as quickly as possible. It also means we can respond to epidemics, conflicts, and disasters at a moment’s notice, so a huge thank you!
