Penrith Pumas Team Fundraising Challenge

Raising for Penrith Pumas WRC

Event dates:

As a team we are working together to accumulate the total miles it would take to go from Lands End to John O'Groats which is a huge total of 837 miles by car.

The aim is to achieve this throughout the month of September to tie in with World Suicide Prevention Day on the 10th September, to help raise awareness of the importance of physical activity upon individuals mental health and well-being.

With each of our impairments the team will be achieving this through participating in any physical activity that they can such as walking, hand-cycling, swimming and other wheelchair sport etc.

We have set ourselves a target of £500.00 to be raised, with all donations being put to good use to keep the team playing Wheelchair Rugby. The funds will be used to purchase inner tubes (if you have seen the game recently in Paralympics, you'll understand how many punctures we have). As well as to help the club purchase new equipment to help the team develop their skills in the sport.

About us

Penrith Pumas WRC

Charity number: 12718259 CIC

Penrith Pumas WRC is a unique sports club running in the heart of Cumbria, offering the local community the opportunity to participate in the only full contact Paralympic Sport of Wheelchair Rugby!

The sport has shown me that no matter what a person’s ability is, there is a role for them within the sport not just playing but other routes like volunteering on the bench, officiating or even refereeing.

I introduced the sport into Cumbria to enable individuals with any physical impairments or hidden disabilities in or out of a wheelchair to access an all-inclusive, thrill seeking, adrenaline rush full contact sport!

Playing doesn't just benefit your physical health but improves your mental wellbeing too! Why not join our family and meet some amazing people just like YOU!
