About us
Thousands of dogs are born on the streets of Bosnia every year, condemned to face cruel acts by locals, starvation, disease and brutal and inhumane deaths. The dogs are round up by dog catchers and often placed into kill shelters that provide no care, food or comfort, with many starving to death or dying of exposure.
Fetcher Dog aims to rescue as many of these dogs as possible. We have many local rescuers, picking up stray street dogs and removing as many as possible from kill shelters. All dogs are taken to safe and secure facilities where they no longer have to fear cruelty. They are fed and cared for and are taken to local veterinarians who help us nurse them back to health. We give them everything they need for a fresh start and the best possible chance of a happy, healthy life.
Fetcher Dog then finds forever homes for these dogs in the U.K. These dogs have been through so much that they desperately deserve wonderful families and we aim to pair all of our dogs with the best forever homes that we can find.
Rescue Centre Operations Cost Appeal
Event dates: Tuesday 12th September 2023 – Wednesday 11th September
The rescue centre at Hastingleigh, Kent is a self contained sanctuary for 30+ dogs, we like to call 'The Canine Cottage' where residents receive first class care and attention.
The Rescue Centre's operational costs per month are £10000 per month, this figures is broken down as follows:
- Staff Wages x 3 = £2150 (Number 1)
- Dog Food = £600 (Number 2)
- Rent and Rates = £5400 (Number 3)
- Energy = £1000 (Number 4)
- Communications = £100 ( Number 5)
- Transport - £500 (Number 6)
- Medical Equipment - £150 (Number 7)
- Dog Toys and Blankets - £100 (Number 8)

Each month we are asking for donations/support towards this huge but necessary figure. We are not asking any individual or business to cover the whole amount but would be grateful for any contributions and you can stipulate what area you would like to contribute towards ie Number 1 Staff Wages
