Richard's Liverpool Half Marathon Challenge

Im well in sight of the big 50 and yet I have the mindset to want to constantly do better, run further etc. The furthest ive raced is a 10k so the next step is a half marathon. Im am not a naturally sporty person but getting out in the fresh air gives me a wellbeing boost!

So im all set for the Liverpool Half Marathon on Sunday 17th March 2024 read more about the route etc here btrliverpool.com/lhm-and-10m-event

Im running for Identity Dads CIC, a growing small group here in Southport for Dads. The funds would go to run some new antenatal groups and the expenses of the existing playgroup.

These are tough times ....I know this, so keep it simple,  small donations of £3 or £5 are appreciated and will spur me on through those middle miles when I am full of self doubt. Thanks in advance.

UPDATE: 24/02/24   Training run of 17km (about 10.5 miles) done Birkdale to Formby return and it was ok and completed in 1hr50.

UPDATE: 17/03/24  I did it and survived and not a bad time 2hrs 9mins. Honestly for a non-sporty person all my life I cannot begin to explain what it is like to break out of that stereotype and even finish a race this long. To do it without injury and with a decent time is overwhelming.

I ran this for dads' empowerment, men's mental health, recovery and just plain fun!  Thanks to my wife and friends and family for all the support.
