Save Our Space

Help us save Space, the only dedicated LGBTQ+ youth service in Bath & North East Somerset.

All LGBTQ+ young people deserve to feel safe and free to be themselves. Yet in Bath & North East Somerset, too many experience abuse, feel misunderstood, or find themselves alone.

Through Space, the only dedicated LGBTQ+ youth service in Bath & North East Somerset, young people find safety, friendship and adults who accept and understand them.

For young people aged 13-21, our youth groups and 1:1 youth work are a lifeline. Many of the young people supported are exploring their identity for the first time, and they tell us that:

• "Space [is] like my family. Without Space I don't really have anywhere to go."
• "I never knew there were people like me until I came to Space."
• "I can be gay and not sad."

Space relies entirely on charitable donations and grants to run. However, over the past year, rising pressure on funders, our community, and the organisations that support them has meant that funding for our service has become harder to secure.

Our team has worked tirelessly to bridge the gap, but unless we can secure at least £10,000 by 30 November we will be forced to reduce this essential service in March. With around 30 young people relying on Space every month, we are determined not to let that happen.
