Second Collection for Peter's Pence
Event dates: Saturday 26th June 2021 – Sunday 27th June 2021
“How marvelous it would be if, at the end of each day, each of us could say: today I have performed an act of charity towards others” – Pope Francis.
This Sunday’s Second Collection is for Peter’s Pence. Through this collection each of us can participate in the activity of the Pope as Pastor of the universal Church; supporting those most in need who approach the Apostolic See for help.
An ancient practice which began with the first community of the apostles, it has continued to this day because charity distinguishes the disciples of Jesus:
“From this, they will all know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (Jn. 13:35)
