About us
CamRARE unites patients, experts, and advocates to accelerate rare disease diagnoses, treatments, and care. We aim to make rare diseases an everyday conversation, recognising that while individual conditions are rare, they collectively affect 1 in 17 people in the UK (3.5 million), with 75% impacting children. Rare conditions profoundly affect entire families, leading to isolation and mental health challenges. CamRARE provides vital inclusive activities for children and young adults. However, these initiatives require funding. Donations, such as £55 for accessible water sports or £43 for adaptive horse riding, directly support these crucial opportunities.

Whether you're a seasoned runner chasing a PB or a family looking for a fun day out, the #ShelfordFunRun is the perfect event for all abilities! This fast, flat, UKA-registered 5k race and fun run on closed roads through Great and Little Shelford is chip-timed and full of community spirit.
CamRARE is proud to co-host with Shelford Playscape and fundraise through the event, and we’re inviting individuals, families, and teams to run or walk for a powerful cause: supporting local children and young people living with rare and undiagnosed conditions.
By joining our team and fundraising (just £50 per person or £100 per team), you’ll help us support 50 more local families, offering friendship, connection, and inclusive, adaptive activities that keep minds and bodies healthy. Think: dance sessions, hydropools, farm visits, tennis, Grafham Water, and more!
