About us
Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through its expert advice, support and legal services.
It provides people in need with one-to-one, personalised help with all their housing issues. Our emergency helpline is often the first port of call for people facing a housing crisis.
Shelter has been around for over fifty years, and will continue to fight until one day, every person has a safe, secure place to call home.
Liverpool Cathedral Abseil
Event date: Saturday 8th July 2023
On 8th July 2023 our fearless fundraisers are taking on the 150ft abseil from the West Door of Liverpool Cathedral.
This is a free-hang abseil, where you will have no body contact with the wall, and this only adds to the exhilaration as you experience the Liverpool skyline from a different perspective.
Funds raised from this event will help Shelter’s frontline services to continue providing free and expert help to thousands of people facing homelessness, as well helping the charity to campaign for lasting change.
Homelessness is a major issue in the North West and Shelter is needed more than ever. More than 12,500 people in the region, including more than 5,500 children, were officially recorded as homeless at the end of last year. This includes people sleeping rough on the streets and families living in temporary accommodation.
