Prama Care is a registered charity (No. 801967) providing domiciliary care services in Dorset.
Event dates: Friday 1st April 2022 – Saturday 31st December 2022
SMILE was developed from an idea originally discussed within our home care client forum, an effective way for us to be able to do what we do best and go that extra mile for our clients
Aims and Objectives
The main aim of the SMILE project is to enable and assist our clients to do just that – SMILE!
It is quality time provided free of charge to our most vulnerable and isolated home care clients, outside of the usual time restraints of the regular day to day care visits provided.
SMILE visits reflect Prama’s values:
• Compassion
• Helpfulness
• Respect
• Integrity
• Sensitivity
• Trustworthy
What can be expected of a SMILE visit?
SMILE is offered to our most vulnerable or isolated clients.
SMILE visits are purely about what our clients wish, the time (usually two hours per month) can be used by the clients within their own homes who may have physical disabilities, dementia, mental health needs, sensory impairment and learning disabilities. It could be something as simple as a cuppa and a chat, or maybe a visit to a special place remembered from childhood.
A SMILE assessment will at first be completed by the Locality Manager, this is when the client will choose who they wish to visit them during their SMILE time.
SMILE time is not a substitute for care visits, personal or domestic.
Examples of things to do during the SMILE visit:
Reminiscing
Arts and Crafts
Short Journey’s out
Baking
Drawing and Painting
Enjoying a Cuppa and a chat
