IWCT runs a free spay, neuter and vaccination programme from our Treatment Centre in Concepcion Tarlac in the Philippines. We provide free veterinary care to those who cannot afford it and promote responsible pet ownership through our Education Programme.
IWCT spay or neuter at least 50 dogs and cats a week. We offer this service for free to control the population of roaming animals in the Philippines.
Since the dog meat trade legislation, the stray and roaming dog population has increased. This is one of the reasons why rabies is still seen in the Philippines.
If we can control the population through our successful spay / neuter programme, this reduces the need for unnecessary culling and reduces the number of dogs suffering on the street.
It costs IWCT £25 for a volunteer vet to spay or neuter one dog or cat.
Your donation will help the growing number of people queuing up at our Treatment Centre to get their pet spayed, unable to pay for the procedure at a private clinic.
