About us

We are a registered charity [No: 1156723], dedicated to rescuing and re-homing more mature (aged 7 years and older) Staffordshire Bull Terriers and Staffy cross dogs.

The Staffies we care for are senior dogs who have found themselves in rescue and in need of a new home for many reasons; their owner may have passed away; family circumstances may have changed or they have simply been picked up by the dog warden as a stray. As they are older they can find it difficult to find new homes but we work hard to make sure they do and we will care for them until that perfect home comes along. We are unique in that we are a breed specific rescue whose sole focus is the Senior Staffy.

We are based mainly in the Midlands area but rehome throughout the UK

SSC is Raising Funds for Vet Care

We are appealing for donations to aid us with our vet bills, due to the number of recent welfare cases with have taken into our care.

Seniors like our darling little Beatrice, who came to SSC in the most terrible state, she had severe dermatitis, her poorly little paws kept bleeding, and she also has a large growth on her side. Despite her discomfort, Beatrice is the most loving little girl, and has stolen so many of our volunteers' hearts.

Another welfare case is our gorgeous boy Alfie, his eyes were terribly infected upon his arrival, and although our vet has been taking such good care of him to help improve his eyes, the only long-term solution is give our old boy a "facelift" that will stop his eyelashes constantly irritating his eyes. This is a costly operation, however we must do what is best for Alfie to ensure he is pain free.
