About us
For more than 30 years the Lucy Faithfull Foundation has been at the forefront of tackling and preventing child sexual abuse. We firmly believe that child sexual abuse is preventable, not inevitable.
Our work is unique. We protect children by working with people who pose a risk and diverting them from causing harm. We support individuals and families who have been affected by abuse. And we help professionals who work with families to create safer environments for children.
We use data and insights, alongside decades of experience, to develop innovative strategies and interventions to make prevention a reality. We engage with policy and decision makers to advocate for a public health approach to preventing child sexual abuse and we share our understanding of what keeps children safe to the widest possible audience.
Our Stop It Now helpline is the largest confidential helpline of its kind for anyone with concerns about child sexual abuse, including those concerned about their own thoughts or behaviour.

Stop It Now helpline - preventing child sexual abuse – one call at a time
The Lucy Faithfull Foundation runs the Stop It Now helpline.
As the largest confidential helpline of its kind globally, it serves as a lifeline for anyone with concerns about child sexual abuse, including those worried about their own thoughts or behaviour to get help before they harm a child. For over two decades our helpline has been instrumental in supporting people to take action to prevent child sexual abuse.
Join us in making a difference: This campaign is your invitation to join us in preventing child sexual abuse, one call at a time. By contributing, you become a key part of the solution, helping give adults a safe space to talk about complex issues and take action to protect children from harm.
Last year, we responded to an average of 77 requests for help every day – via email, online chat, or phone call. Unfortunately, 22 people a day couldn’t reach us on the phone in their time of crisis, half of which never get through. Each one of these missed callers represents a lost opportunity to protect a child.
The demand for our services is growing, and without your help, we will miss even more calls this year.
Your support will enable us to:
- Increase our capacity to respond to more calls, emails and chats
- Extend our reach ensuring everyone who needs our support knows it's available
- Create a safer world for children
Every call is an opportunity to protect a child from sexual abuse BEFORE IT HAPPENS.
