Raising for Pussycat Lodge
We have been rescuing and rehoming cats and kittens from our current site in the Brentwood area for over 25 years, rehoming over 300 local cats every year and providing a safe haven for cats in desperate need of help.
After 25 years on the same site, we now have to move the PCL rescue centre by the end of 2025. That means finding, funding and moving the rescue to a new site over the next 18 months.
Without a rescue centre we won’t be able to continue our vital work and so we’re committed to finding a new site and continuing to save the lives of the hundreds of cats every year that need our help.
Whilst this is a big challenge it’s also an exciting change and gives us the opportunity to take PCL into the next chapter.
We will update the target as we move through the different steps.

Today we have an amazing thank you to make to the late Brian Barnard and his wife Iris who were active supporters of PCL since as far back as 2005 we believe. Brian passed in April 2024 and the solicitors managing their affairs found the current trustees and after all the appropriate checks were made passed on the donation of £54,142.69 which is course is tax free given it's in a will to a registered charity which means it has all been put into the "moving house" pot. Brian and Iris, thank you and may you Rest in Peace safe in the knowledge your gift will keep many cats safe for many years to come.
Andrea has paid £135 into the account today as together with other volunteers they attended the turning on of the Billericay Christmas Lights where they sold a few gifts and raised awareness of PCL with the information boards.
Celia is proud to say that she banked £786.10 for the fundraiser today from her psychic night and some piece sold at a recent xmas fair. That's once again an excellent amount. Thank you to everyone who made that happen.
Val Green from has donated £200 to PCL from the fundraising efforts of her group that you can see here facebook.com/groups/helpanimalsauction - That's very kind, many thanks :)
Local charity thefunwalktrust.co.uk/ sent us a cheque for £217 as a "top up" to the sponsored walk that Rebecca undertook earlier in the year which is awesome.
Their website explains their impact...
Last year, walkers and sponsors came together in record-breaking form—raising £100,953.41, including a dazzling 30% bonus from the Fun Walk Bonus Pot. This total pushed the amount raised by the Fun Walk since 2022 to a phenominal £1,635,000, benefitting hundreds of local charities and projects over the years.
Hopefully in 2026 we can get even more people doing this for our fundraiser!?
