About us
Pussycat Lodge Trust (PCLT) was established 25 years ago and has been a focal point for a group of hard working and dedicated volunteers who rescue and care for cats in the Dagenham, Redbridge and Havering and Brentwood areas in Essex.
Several purpose built pens cater for the many needy cats and kittens passing through our doors. Outside is a specially built feral house for the semi-wild cats who can't quite face coming indoors.
The Next Chapter
We have been rescuing and rehoming cats and kittens from our current site in the Brentwood area for over 25 years, rehoming over 300 local cats every year and providing a safe haven for cats in desperate need of help.
After 25 years on the same site, we now have to move the PCL rescue centre by the end of 2025. That means finding, funding and moving the rescue to a new site over the next 18 months.
Without a rescue centre we won’t be able to continue our vital work and so we’re committed to finding a new site and continuing to save the lives of the hundreds of cats every year that need our help.
Whilst this is a big challenge it’s also an exciting change and gives us the opportunity to take PCL into the next chapter.
We will update the target as we move through the different steps.

Our updates

Tonight we have yet again updated the fundraising totaliser this time by another significant amount following a legacy donation of £35,434 from the estate of the late Mrs Evelyn Vincent. We all hope Mrs Vincent rests in peace knowing that we will ensure her generosity will help so many cats in the years to come and we hope that she is surrounded by all of our furry partners who have crossed over the rainbow bridge. Such a kind thing to do.

Tonight you will see the total raised so far has jumped up as Sara M who helped us raise money at Sundays event (and baked this crostata which I just had to buy) has donated everything plus her own money to make a huge donation of £650 plus gift aid! - And that's not all, she is pretty sure her employer will match that so watch this space. It was good to meet you and your partner and I am sure we're going to see you helping out at future events. Thanks :)

Todays fantastic update follows an event last night at the Naval & Military club in Southend whose members and guests last night raised £650 but that's not all... There was a £50 donation from Linda Morris and another £50 donation from Janice Northcott which makes a humbling £750 top up to the pot. The next quiz for PCL is on 12th December, then 17th January - get in touch to find out more.

As you will have probably seen from our Facebook posts (facebook.com/PCLcatrescue), the team were at Ikea last weekend to raise awareness for this campaign. Well the wonderful shoppers there also put some money in the tin and when I say "some" I actually mean an unexpected £222 which we have added to our "total raised figure". Thanks Ikea, thanks to the PCL team and everyone that donated. Every little bit helps us get a new home for the cats.
