Pussycat Lodge Trust (PCLT) was established 25 years ago and has been a focal point for a group of hard working and dedicated volunteers who rescue and care for cats in the Dagenham, Redbridge and Havering and Brentwood areas in Essex.
Several purpose built pens cater for the many needy cats and kittens passing through our doors. Outside is a specially built feral house for the semi-wild cats who can't quite face coming indoors.
We have been rescuing and rehoming cats and kittens from our current site in the Brentwood area for over 25 years, rehoming over 300 local cats every year and providing a safe haven for cats in desperate need of help.
After 25 years on the same site, we now have to move the PCL rescue centre by the end of 2025. That means finding, funding and moving the rescue to a new site over the next 18 months.
Without a rescue centre we won’t be able to continue our vital work and so we’re committed to finding a new site and continuing to save the lives of the hundreds of cats every year that need our help.
Whilst this is a big challenge it’s also an exciting change and gives us the opportunity to take PCL into the next chapter.
We will update the target as we move through the different steps.

Out collection pots were emptied today and £69 has as a result been paid into the account :)
We had a lovely £70 donation this week from Jennifer Crossley for volunteer Caryl keeping ex Pcl cat Max company while they were on holiday - thanks, it all adds up :)
Thank you to everyone who turned out for the quiz arranged and led by Tracy Sturgeon. It was a great success with £1219 raised and then Tracy being Tracy rounded it up to £1250 - This takes our total to £69,571 - I hear there is a rumour another one might be in the early stages of planning for a few months time?
Celia has hosted another quiz at the Naval and Military Club, Southend-on-Sea which has raised a lovely £523. Thanks everyone who turned out.
Well the Curry for Cats was a great night, perhaps we'll do it again when the days are longer and weather warmer and maybe be brave and go for a Saturday night or a Sunday lunch? - Who knows but we raised £1512 from the ticket sales and £495 from the raffle so a great top up of £2007 to the pot.
