Pussycat Lodge Trust (PCLT) was established 25 years ago and has been a focal point for a group of hard working and dedicated volunteers who rescue and care for cats in the Dagenham, Redbridge and Havering and Brentwood areas in Essex.
Several purpose built pens cater for the many needy cats and kittens passing through our doors. Outside is a specially built feral house for the semi-wild cats who can't quite face coming indoors.
We have been rescuing and rehoming cats and kittens from our current site in the Brentwood area for over 25 years, rehoming over 300 local cats every year and providing a safe haven for cats in desperate need of help.
After 25 years on the same site, we now have to move the PCL rescue centre by the end of 2025. That means finding, funding and moving the rescue to a new site over the next 18 months.
Without a rescue centre we won’t be able to continue our vital work and so we’re committed to finding a new site and continuing to save the lives of the hundreds of cats every year that need our help.
Whilst this is a big challenge it’s also an exciting change and gives us the opportunity to take PCL into the next chapter.
We will update the target as we move through the different steps.

Tonight we have had our total raised by an amazing £30,000 from a legacy. We won't pass the details of the person who gifted this generous donation in their will as we do not have that permission but please accept our heartfelt thanks and RIP knowing you have just helped PCL enormously with our Next Chapter.
Today we have 3 "Thank You" messages to make as we add £140 into the pot. Firstly to Embark on Raw (embarkonraw.co.uk) for their donation and Heidi for the nomination then Blackmore Village WI having listen to a talk from our wonderful team and finally to Marie who donated a Parrot Cage that Lynn sold all to raise funds. It all adds up you know!
We are pleased to be able to report that the clairvoyance night at the weekend raised £703.70 - Thank you to everyone that came and to Amanda for pulling it all together and of course Pauline for her messages.
All the seats were taken in this image for the Tea Party at Porters Grange organised by Celia last weekend. This added another £1179 into the pot towards our goal of £500,000
Well the pennies have been counted, correction, the POUNDS have been counted and we are pleased to announce that our first ever Spring Fair raised an amazing £2280 which has just been added to the pot! Thank you everyone for supporting the event and the volunteers for putting in together and running it on the day.
