Raising for Pussycat Lodge
We have been rescuing and rehoming cats and kittens from our current site in the Brentwood area for over 25 years, rehoming over 300 local cats every year and providing a safe haven for cats in desperate need of help.
After 25 years on the same site, we now have to move the PCL rescue centre by the end of 2025. That means finding, funding and moving the rescue to a new site over the next 18 months.
Without a rescue centre we won’t be able to continue our vital work and so we’re committed to finding a new site and continuing to save the lives of the hundreds of cats every year that need our help.
Whilst this is a big challenge it’s also an exciting change and gives us the opportunity to take PCL into the next chapter.
We will update the target as we move through the different steps.

We would like to say a sincere thank you to Moss & Coleman Solicitors, who have recently selected Pussycat Lodge Cat Rescue to receive a generous donation of £2000 from an estate they are administering.
Many people do not realise that gifts left through Wills and estates can make a real difference to small local charities like ours. These donations are not just for large national organisations — they can directly help rescues like Pussycat Lodge provide food, veterinary care, shelter, neutering, rehabilitation and safe rehoming for cats who need us.
A legacy gift, of any size, can leave a lasting impact long after a person’s lifetime. It is a thoughtful way of supporting causes that matter and helping animals who may otherwise have no one.
We are very grateful to have been chosen on this occasion, and the donation will be used carefully to support "The Next Chapter" as we build our new home for cats in our care.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated items and to everyone who bid in our auction.
Thanks to your support, we raised £1,102 for Pussycat Lodge. Your kindness and generosity directly helps the cats who rely on us, and we can’t thank you enough but as if that wasn't enough the quiz raised a further £311 which means total we have raised the totaliser by an amazing £1,483 ! Wow !
Today I have update our tracker with a rather amazing donation from someone who I know does a lot for cat rescues already - Thank you so much to our lovely, long term supporter, Amy-Louise Budd, for her very generous donation of £3500
From Celia : Thank you to The Bardswell Club for your hospitality for our recent quiz where we raised £244 plus what’s on the Sumup machine makes the total £372.40 for the night. Looks like a good venue for another Comedy Night!? Mmmmm
This week we have been humbled to have received a £7537 bank transfer from a workplace giving platform called Brevity. This was formed from a number of gifts some of which matched by their company.

Pussycat Lodge (PCL) was established over 25 years ago and has since been a focal point for a local group of hard working and dedicated volunteers. We rescue cats primarily across the Brentwood, Basildon, Castle Point, and Chelmsford Boroughs in South Essex.
