Raising for Pussycat Lodge
We have been rescuing and rehoming cats and kittens from our current site in the Brentwood area for over 25 years, rehoming over 300 local cats every year and providing a safe haven for cats in desperate need of help.
After 25 years on the same site, we now have to move the PCL rescue centre by the end of 2025. That means finding, funding and moving the rescue to a new site over the next 18 months.
Without a rescue centre we won’t be able to continue our vital work and so we’re committed to finding a new site and continuing to save the lives of the hundreds of cats every year that need our help.
Whilst this is a big challenge it’s also an exciting change and gives us the opportunity to take PCL into the next chapter.
We will update the target as we move through the different steps.

Local charity thefunwalktrust.co.uk/ sent us a cheque for £217 as a "top up" to the sponsored walk that Rebecca undertook earlier in the year which is awesome.

Last year, walkers and sponsors came together in record-breaking form—raising £100,953.41, including a dazzling 30% bonus from the Fun Walk Bonus Pot. This total pushed the amount raised by the Fun Walk since 2022 to a phenominal £1,635,000, benefitting hundreds of local charities and projects over the years.
Hopefully in 2026 we can get even more people doing this for our fundraiser!?
Thankyou so much to the Maggio Lounge in Billericay for your continued support 🙏🏻. The lovely staff kindly organised a bake sale to fundraise for us ❤️. They baked a wonderful assortment of homemade treats which went down very well with customers and visitors to the High Street 😋 and raised £235.
Maggio are also letting us use their event space for free so look out for fundraising events which we will be holding there!
Celia has banked another £480 today - £460 from this weeks quiz at The Naval and Military in Southend plus £20 from the sale of a patchwork quilt. Thank you everyone who took part and to Celia for all the hard work as usual.
Tonight we have added another amazing amount from the hard work of Rebecca who completed a sponsored walk last month but not just any walk, she set a target of a million steps in September (33,333 steps a day), so quite the challenge and having collected the monies from her supporters we have upped the total by £565 - And it doesn't end there, there is some match funding coming which we will tell you about as soon as it arrives - watch this space!
We are excited to announce that all the monies from Celia's 2nd auction have now been collated together and placed into the pot and the total was an amazing £2447 ! - Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket and turned up and placed a bid and of course to everyone who donated the wonderful "goods and promises" that made the day possible.

Pussycat Lodge (PCL) was established over 25 years ago and has since been a focal point for a local group of hard working and dedicated volunteers. We rescue cats primarily across the Brentwood, Basildon, Castle Point, and Chelmsford Boroughs in South Essex.
