Moving on Up: Wellbeing Drama Workshops in Schools

Event dates: Monday 15th April – Friday 28th June

Wellbeing drama workshops supports 10-11 year olds to make the transition from primary to secondary school.  The workshops help young people to maintain their wellbeing with practical exercises, consider bullying/cyber bullying and healthy social media use.  Transition is a stressful time for so many young people, donations will enable AHT to deliver Moving on Up workshops for free in schools in Derbyshire.  Drama is fun, playful, giving practical and empowering experiences enabling young people to have the best start at their new secondary school.  Professional actors and directors work with the young people using scripts, scenarios, characters encouraging deeper learning and reflection that creates lasting impact.  Last year young people said: the workshops had ‘made me feel more confident’, ‘more assertive’, and created greater awareness of negative social media use. One child commented they will be ‘more careful’ in future.
