About us

Mildmay Hospital

Charity number: 292058

MILDMAY is a pioneering HIV and health charity providing specialist care, rehabilitation, prevention, training, and health systems strengthening in the UK and internationally.

Since 1998, Mildmay has delivered life-changing HIV services across sub-Saharan Africa and Eastern Europe, working closely with trusted local partners. We continue to support our NGO partners in Kenya and Uganda, and are now developing a major new Uganda Health Programme, launching in 2026, focused on long-term conditions, disability, children’s services and strengthening community-based care.

In our London hospital, we opened a ground-breaking service in 2020, providing step-down, rehabilitative healthcare for people experiencing homelessness or rough-sleeping. This was followed by the REBUILD Pathway (2022) and our specialist Neuro 2B Neurorehabilitation Pathway (2023).

In 2024, the London Overground line from Stratford to Clapham Junction/Richmond was officially named the Mildmay line in recognition of our vital role during the HIV/AIDS crisis of the 1980s and ’90s, and our ongoing service to the LGBTQ+ community today.

Your donation helps us deliver vital HIV care, specialist rehabilitation, and life-changing programmes in the UK and Uganda—supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. Thank you for standing with us.
