World Communications Day 2025 Second Collection

Event date: Sunday 1 June 2025

The theme for the 59th World Communications Day, which will be observed on 1 June 2025, is 'Share with gentleness the hope that is in your hearts.'

The theme was chosen by Pope Francis in January. His message for the day was: in a world “characterized by disinformation and polarization, as a few centres of power control an unprecedented mass of data and information, it is ever more urgent to 'disarm communication' and purify it of aggression."

The theme draws attention to the fact that today too often communication is violent, aimed at striking and not at establishing the conditions for dialogue.

"All conflicts start when individual faces melt away and disappear. We must not surrender to this mindset." said the Pope.  You can read Pope Francis's full message here.
