Heather Simmons - Songs of World War II (2.30pm performance)

Heather Simmons, accompanied by Ted Beament, will be performing a selection of songs that were popular during the years of World War II.

Heather has sung at some of the finest venues in the world including Ronnie Scott's, The Royal Festival Hall, The Vanguard in New York and Preservation Hall in New Orleans. This year she was chosen to headline the Mayor of Southend-on-Sea's annual charity show.  Now she will be performing at the Cart and Wagon Shed. Her album "I'm Old Fashioned" has been played on national radio and she continues to sing with many wonderful jazz stars.

Ted Beament is an acclaimed jazz pianist.  He was for many years a member of the Humphrey Lyttleton Band and now leads his own quartet.

It sits at the heart of the historic Shoebury Garrison site close to Gunners Park and the Thames Estuary.
