Description:
Citizens Advice Liverpool is a local independent charity that works in partnership with the national charity, Citizens Advice.
We provide free, independent and confidential advice to many people each year on a wide range of issues such as debt, benefits, employment, housing, relationships and family, discrimination, health and consumer issues.
Last year, we helped over 20,000 people with approximately 60,000 problems, highlighting a real demand for our services in Liverpool.
Our continual training and investment in our volunteers enable them to make a huge contribution to the Citizens Advice network. They are vital, allowing us to reach many more people that if we were purely staff-run. In turn, volunteers benefit from gaining new skills and personal development, better wellbeing and community engagement. These positive effects on individual?s lives have additional value for society, through the advantages and savings associated with happier, healthier and more productive members of the community.
We're not just here for times of crisis - we also use clients' stories anonymously to campaign for policy changes that benefit the population as a whole.
Four in ten people have used the services of Citizens Advice at some point in their lives. Maybe you have, or someone you know? A donation of any amount will help to ensure that we're here for people when they need us - whoever they are, whatever the problem.
