ISHEP is a dedicated to enhancing community well-being, by delivering purpose-written educational programs on the history and contributions of black people, including their struggles and achievements, in various subjects such as literature, social studies, and science. The objective is to Promote Racial Harmony across all groups while supporting young people in Education, Training, and Social Welfare as they navigate life.
Community Centre for Transitioning Youth
One of our key short-term goals is to establish UK-wide accredited centres, primarily designed to support young people aged 16-25 who are transitioning from child to adult social care. Through innovative funding initiatives, the centre will provide a supportive environment where young people can access resources, guidance, and opportunities to ease their transition into adulthood. The centre will offer a variety of programs and services tailored to meet the unique needs of this age group, including educational support, vocational training, and mental health services. Our commitment extends to delivering educational programs, vocational training, and public awareness initiatives that promote racial harmony, equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).
Educational Programs and Racial Harmony Initiatives
We are committed to delivering educational programs that support extracurricular activities, with a particular focus on promoting racial harmony. The flagship program, of EPHEP, consists of 24 interactive lessons that explore the concept of racism. These lessons are designed to encourage students to form their own opinions, and make an informed decision on whether racism has a place in today's society. By engaging students in thoughtful discussions and activities, we aim to foster a more inclusive and tolerant community.
Vocational Training, Work Experience and Apprenticeship Programs
Our vocational training centre will play a crucial role in supporting job-specific training programs for individuals aged 16-25. This includes work experience for a period during which students, will work for a company or organisation in order to get experience of a particular type of work. These programs are designed to help young people acquire the skills needed for employment, thereby enhancing their employability and career prospects. In addition to vocational training and work experience, we seek to offer or arrange apprenticeship programs that combine on-the-job training with classroom-style instruction. These apprenticeships will involve second and third-year university students from both national and international backgrounds, providing an extra layer of support and mentorship.
Workshops and Seminars
We organise workshops and seminars to educate the public and businesses, with a particular focus on young people aged 16-25 who are transitioning from child to adult social care services. Our seminars and workshops cover a wide range of topics, including racial harmony, equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), as well as STEM education at levels 3-5, technical skills, and soft skills. These initiatives are designed to empower young people with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in a diverse and inclusive society.
Online Courses for Social Inclusion
To ensure social inclusion, we develop and offer online courses that promote racial harmony. These courses are designed to make education more accessible to a wider audience, regardless of their location or circumstances. By leveraging technology, we aim to reach individuals who may not have access to traditional educational settings, thereby promoting greater social inclusion and equality.
Long-Term Commitments
In the long term, ISHEP is committed to providing free mobile data, shelters, affordable housing , and support services for the homeless. We recognise that our impact must extend beyond educational initiatives to address broader social welfare needs. By supporting these projects, we aim to create a more inclusive and supportive community for all its members. One day 1 out of 5 we support may just become an ISHEP philanthropist in the modern sense.
Expanding Services for Senior Citizens
While our short-term focus is on supporting young people aged 16-25, we also have a long-term vision to expand our services to support senior citizens. As the population ages, it is essential to provide resources and support that meet the unique needs of older adults. Our future initiatives will include programs and services designed to enhance the well-being and quality of life for senior citizens, ensuring that they can age with dignity and independence.
